This week, we completed on our first set of SAT-level vocabulary Frayer Models, taken from Station Eleven. We also reviewed the guidelines of a Socratic Seminar and engaged in our first seminar, discussing Station Eleven. We read and annotated the introduction to How to Read Literature like a Professor, then we took notes on the important chapters of this book. We discussed how there is a common language to analyzing literature and our notes focused on developing that language. We practiced analyzing Station Eleven using two chapters from How to Read Literature like a Professor (most stories are quests and most meals are communion).
