This week, we finished watching the film versions of our novels, Fahrenheit 451 and The Red Badge of Courage. We compared and contrasted the movies with the books, noting how movies rarely can act as the substitute for reading novels. We also finished notes on pronoun-antecedent agreement and practiced this grammar skill. Lastly, we practiced persuasion this week as well, learning how to make an argument, a counterargument, and a rebuttal. Given a choice of EOC Writing SOL prompts, we wrote persuasive essays.
