This week, we took a reading diagnostic quiz and continued reading our novels. For those reading Fahrenheit 451, we reviewed figurative language terms, identified figurative language in the novel, and analyzed a device of our choice. For those reading The Red Badge of Courage, we reviewed and practiced the difference between connotation and denotation. We also practiced annotating a selection of the novel, paying particular attention to word choice and how it can help communicate meaning when reading a difficult passage. We also reflected on our performance in the 1st 9 weeks. ![]()
